Brown bear, brown bear what do you see??

Okay- so in August the Kodiak Refuge & Alaska Geographic took some of us seasonal help on a thank you day trip into the Refuge to Frazer Lake where we could hang out at a bear viewing platform. It was definitely one of the highlight of my time here (the first go-around), to just be able to observe the famous Kodiak bears close and personal. I actually got some shots using the Refuge's camera that I borrowed because it has amazing zoom compared to my little handheld Nikon Coolpix (go figure). Well I forgot to get those pics the last time I left so now that I'm back I stole them from the camera and can share them with you! I had posted some on fb that I had taken with that hotshot Nikon I mention, so I apologize if some of these are repeats for some of you. I also apologize for posting this blog a few months late.

I absolutely adored these two cubs.. I wanted to take them home (kinda)

How many bears do you see?

Well I hope you enjoy the pics from one of my favorite days here in Alaska. Next time I'll post current pics. Things are going well here- I got some exciting things going on at work and am enjoying the snow (for the most part). I've also been getting some really great feedback about starting my blog back up so I want to say thanks to all my readers out there! I truly didn't expect so many people to read it when I started this but I'm glad it has been found enjoyable. Also I wanted to tell all my friends and fam that I've been especially missing them lately- guess I've been so homesick that I've been listening to some country music. Lame. But it's because they are so great! =) Till next time.
